8. Follow the installation instructions (if a previous PEP is detected, the installation will be
stopped and a prompt will request that the old PEP be uninstalled before the new one can be
installed) and then click finish to exit installation.
9. You may restart the HMS 400 system. Please refer to the readme.txt file for specific
instructions.
To Install a PEP after downloading from the ESPL site
Note: No two versions of a G (General) release PEP can be installed on the same server. That’s why
each time a PEP is run, it will always check for the presence of another G release PEP. If there is, then
a message will pop-up (as shown below) asking the user to uninstall that PEP, after which the
installation will be aborted. For steps on uninstalling a PEP, see ‘To uninstall a PEP’ below.
1. Shut down the HMS 400 system
2. Shut down the PMSI module as well by right clicking it on the tray icon. Press yes to confirm
3. Run the PEP executable file from where it was saved to
4. A message box will be prompted upon running the PEP requesting for the system to be
shutdown before proceeding (click Yes to continue)
5. Note: Installation of the PEP would halt if it fails to detect the HMS 400 system on the server. It
does this by checking for the C:\HM directory
6. Click Next on the screen below:
