Replacing the Side Cover 

After you complete your work with the server’s interior components, replace the side cover and, if 
you removed them, reinstall the chassis feet on the bottom of the server. 

 
To replace the side cover 

. 

CAUTION 
Risk of equipment damage 

Before you replace the side cover, ensure that there are no 
tools or loose parts inside the server chassis. 

 

1.  Hold the cover flat against the chassis. 
2.  Slide the cover toward the front of the server until it locks into place. 
3.  Tighten the two thumbscrews on the back of the server. 
4.  If you removed the chassis feet, reinstall them. 
5.  Connect all external peripheral device cables and the power cord to the back panel. 
6.  Power up the server. 

 

 

Replacing System Fans 

For cooling and airflow, the system contains five fans that cool the server’s interior.
