About PEPs

A PEP is an executable file used to release patches for the HMS400 system. The PEP file follows
the naming convention as described below:

HMXXYYZZAccc.exe

Where:-

•

X, Y and Z denotes the HMS400 version number

•

A refers to the PEP type: G – General Release and L – Language Release

•

ccc is the PEP Release control number

For example:

Connecting the Server to customer LAN

This section provides instructions to set a temporary connection to the customer LAN for
downloading PEPs.

Note

: The customer LAN connection is temporary. Nortel Networks does not recommend a

permanent connection to the customer LAN.

To connect the server to the customer LAN

1. Locate the customer LAN connector on the back of the server.

Note: The customer LAN connector is labeled as “for temp LAN connection”. Refer to the
‘Rear Panel Diagram’ below:
