Note:
Use the Element Manager Manual see chapter Quick Start Guide to make
the configuration setting for the unit, The following text (loading
configuration settings and remote software upgrade) can setup
parameters that are not valid for this unit.
Backup the Registry Setting
The new configuration must be saved by using the backup command or else it will
be lost next restart:
registry backup -n newconfig -comment -IP settings
[Enter]
Restart
Restart the Nimbra 300 series switch to make the new configuration active. (Make
all changes in the registry before rebooting.)
reboot [Enter]
Now, with an IP network up and running, the rest of the parameters for the network
can be entered using the web-interface. The log-in procedure was described in the
previous chapter and a more detailed description of the web-interface is found in
the Element Manager User’s Manual for Nimbra One and Nimbra 300 Series.
Loading the Configuration Settings
When the IP connection is up and running, a pre-prepared configuration file can be
uploaded to the node with FTP. The file needs then to be installed and activated.
1.
Start the FTP client; enter the Nimbra 300 series switch IP address and log-in
information.

When connected, upload the configuration file to the temporary directory /tmp.

Exit the FTP-program and connect to the unit through a terminal. When logged
in, enter the following command and parameters at the prompt:
r e g i s t r y i n s t a l l – n a m e < c o n f i g u r a t i o n n a m e >
- f i l e < c o n f i g u r a t i o n f i l e > [ E n t e r ]
The configuration name could be the file name without extension or another
appropriate name to identify the configuration. The configuration file is the
configuration file name including the path.
4.
Enter command:
registry list [Enter]
The new configuration should be listed with index zero, according to below:
> registry list
0 newconfig
1 default

Restart the Nimbra 300 series switch to make the new configuration active.
