Connector:  RJ45

Required Software

•

 

Terminal software: To utilize the terminal connection a standard terminal
emulation software (VT100) is required, e.g. Windows Terminal.
(Serial port.)

•

 

FTP client: FTP is used to transfer the required configuration files to and from
the Nimbra 300 series switches. (Ethernet port.)

•

 

Web interface: Refer to,  Nimbra Element Manager - Users Manual, for
recommended web-browser. (Ethernet port.)

Terminal Connection

A Command Line Interface (CLI) is present in the Nimbra One series that
interfaces to a standard VT100 terminal. Normally the web interface should be
used. The terminal is intended mainly for initial configuration operations.

Ethernet Control Port

One 10/100 Base-T Ethernet port interfaces to an Ethernet network. Three green
LEDs indicate status of the port:

Duplex mode:

Green = Duplex mode

Off = Simplex mode

100 Mb mode:

Green = 100 Mbps mode

Off = 10 Mbps mode

Link/Activity:

Green = Link detected
Flashing green = Activity

Off = No link

Serial Control Port

The serial port is the local control port that is intended for software installation and
initial configuration. For further data, see chapter Specifications in this manual.
