1 Gbps Optical Trunk Module, SH and LH

The 1 Gbps Optical Trunk Module has a single 1.25 Gbaud duplex fiber optic
interface (SC connector) with a single mode optical transceiver. There are a short
haul and a long haul version of the module. The short haul device is powered
from 3.3V and uses 1310nm transmit wavelength. The long haul version is
powered from 5V and uses a longer wavelength 1550nm and has a higher optical
launch power.

The module can utilize up to 993.280 Mbps of payload capacity (i.e. <1%
overhead), 1940 slots. It can be delivered in Short Haul (~15km) or Long Haul
(~80km) versions.

The front panel of the module is shown below.

The trunk module provides two fiber-optic connectors for connection to a net-
work. In normal operation the Power LED is lit and the Remove indicator LED
is off. A Request removal button is used when the Module should be replaced
(see chapter Hardware Maintenance).

Status indicator LEDs provide information about the status of the respective
ports. Refer to chapter Specifications for information about these indicators.

To insert, disconnect or replace a trunk module, refer to chapter Hardware
Maintenance.
