configuration operation, make sure to have at hand all the
information that the operation requires, such as addresses of
DTM nodes and specific interfaces within the nodes.
Initial Software Installation
Overview
The Nimbra 300 series switch is delivered with a boot monitor and an operating
system. They will start-up with pre-installed software when powered on.
After power on, the boot monitor will present it and give an opportunity for the
operator to change switch-specific parameters. When the nimbra300 Series switch
are started for the first time these parameters needs to be entered correctly.
The opportunity to change these parameters is always given at startup of the node.
If nothing needs to be changed, the start will continue automatically, with
previously entered values, after a short time.
Parameters, which need to be entered at the initial start, are start-up mode, network
interface parameters and hardware parameters.
To be able to communicate with the series remotely the IP address must be set. This
CLI-based operation is described in section Setting Initial Parameters.
If an optional configuration file is provided it should be installed according to the
section Loading the Configuration Settings.
