4.7.4 Loading roll media
The procedure for loading roll media is explained below.
To load roll media, follow the steps below.
Step 1 :
Set headgap to “0”, select roll
Step 2 :
Turn the unit ON.
Step 3 :
The printer starts the initializing operation.

The following message is displayed on the operation panel.

Paper End
Cancel Lever up
Feed&Reel Purge
User 1
Notes :
In the following conditions, follow "Menu setup on the operation panel" and set
individual settings.
•
When using the winding unit: Set the winding unit setting to "ON"
→
Refer to “Take-up mechanism menu”
•
When not performing media detection during media initialization: Set media
detection to "OFF"
→
Refer to “Media detection menu”
•
When using roll media of which the printable side is outside: Set the feed unit
item to "Outside"
→
Refer to “Feed unit menu”
•
When using roll media of which the printable side is inside:
•
Set the feed unit item to "Inside".

•
Set media detection to "OFF".
→
Refer to “Media detection menu”
•
When not performing media detection during media initialization: Set media
detection to "OFF"
Step 4 :
Verify that the MEDIA SET lamp of the operation panel is unlit.
Step 5 :
Press [F2] key to raise the pressure roller.
•
The MEDIA SET lamp will light (orange).
•
The following message is displayed on the operation panel.

Cancel Lever Down
Feed&Reel Purge
