6.2.4 Replacement of the print head and CR motor
The replacement interval and procedure of the print head and the CR motor is described below.
(1) Replacement period
Replace the parts periodically according to the average period of expiration shown below.
Name Average usable life Use conditions of the product
Print head 6 months
CR motor 1 year
Printing conditions: 360x360dpi, Bi-D, continuous printing
at a 30% of printing rate
1 year must be converted to 8 hours per day, 20 days
per month
Notes :
The user will be charged for replacement of a part that has reached its usable life span
even during the free warranty period or covered by maintenance contract.
If parts that have reached their usable life span continue to be used without replacing
them, and troubles arise, they will not be guaranteed.
Notes :
The print heads may become clogged and impossible to use even before their period of
expiration depending on conditions of use.
(2) Replacement procedure
Replace the parts that have reached their usable life according to the following procedure.
Step 1 : In case that the parts’ life becomes end, when turning the power of the unit ON, the following
messages are displayed alternately on the operation panel every 2 seconds.

Remove Head Cap
And Press ENTER
*Check
Maintenance*
Motor [CR]
Head [C]
Step 2 : Follow the instructions in “Filling the ink – jetwash fluid” on the operation panel.
