Error messages
When switching the unit on:
When switching on, a checking of the stored parameters is performed by the unit on the basis of a
checksum. If the parameter set is invalid, the following message appears approximately 2 seconds
after having switched on:
Furthermore, in this case the respective data set of the press-types and belt-types is also invalid and
must be reloaded using the HPS 2 configuration program.
During operation:
The control unit continually checks the connected thermo element for interruption.
The configuration data set is also permanently checked. If errors are detected, these are then ap-
pearing in the display.
The error description appears in the
<Error message>
. If multiple errors have been detected, these
are successively displayed. Starting with firmware version 2.03, the following error messages are
possible:
Thermo element 1:
The thermo element of heating plate 1 has an interruption
Thermo element 2:
The thermo element of heating plate 2 has an interruption
Belt-type errors:
The list of belt-types is faulty -> download
Press-type errors:
The list of press-types is faulty -> download
In case of device errors it is not possible to perform any pressing process. A parameterization of the
unit is still possible.

Cooling the splice
1. The cooling process is automatically activated once the hold-down time has expired.
2. The ventilators are cooling as long as the temperature of both heating plates gets below the
programmed cooling temperature.
3. If the programmed cooling temperature is falling under the limit, the ventilators are switched
off.
4. The end of the pressing process is indicated by the temperature control unit.
5. Please confirm the end of the pressing process, in actuating the push-button (OK).
