(61) schließen. An die Kontakte lässt sich zur
Alarmierung ein Signalgeber anschließen. Die
Belastbarkeit der Relaiskontakte beträgt 1 A bei
max. 120 V~ oder max. 24 V .
Hinweis:
Die Relaiskontakte schließen auch, wenn der
Verstärker ausgeschaltet wird.
4.2.2
Kalibrierung
1) Den Verstärker einschalten und den Lautstärke-
regler MASTER (17) auf Null drehen, damit nur
der 20-kHz-Testton an den Lautsprecherausgän-
gen anliegt.
2) Am Anschluss HIGH IMP (25) die Spannung des
20-kHz-Testtons messen und mit dem Trimmreg-
ler OSC Level (64) auf 2 V~ einstellen.
3) An den Messpunkten „+ -“ (63) des Moduls die
Spannung des 20-kHz-Testtons kontrollieren. Mit
dem Trimmregler Sensitivity (65) 2 V~ einstellen.
4) Nach der Kalibrierung den Regler MASTER wie-
der auf die gewünschte Lautstärke drehen.
4.3 Fehlermeldemodul PA-6FM
Das als Zubehör lieferbare Fehlermeldemodul PA-
6FM (Abb. 5) ist speziell für diesen Ver stärker konzi-
piert. Über die drei Relaisausgänge (66) können
Signalgeber bei folgenden Fehlern aktiviert werden:

durchgeschmolzen ist oder der Netzschalter (19)

Notstromeinheit an den Anschlüssen DC POWER

interne Lüfter defekt oder nicht angeschlossen ist.
Hinweis:
Alle Relaiskontakte schalten auch um, wenn der
Verstärker ausgeschaltet wird.
1) Den Verstärker vom Netz und von der Notstrom-
versorgung trennen.
2) Den Gehäusedeckel des Verstärkers abschrau-
ben und das Abdeckblech (29) entfernen.
3) Das Modul PA-6FM an der Stelle des Abdeck-
blechs von außen einsetzen und festschrauben.
4) Die 6-polige Leitung (C) des Verstärkers in die
Buchse CN 5 des Moduls stecken, siehe Lage-
plan Seite 48.
5) Die Signalgeber zur Alarmierung an die Relais-
umschaltkontakte (66) anschließen. Der Auf-
druck am Modul zeigt die Kontaktstellung im
Fehlerfall und bei ausgeschaltetem Verstärker.
Die Belastbarkeit der Relaiskontakte beträgt 1 A
bei max. 120 V~ oder max. 24 V .
4.4 Antirückkopplungsmodul PA-6FR
Das als Zubehör lieferbare Antirückkopplungsmodul
PA-6FR (Abb. 6) ist speziell für diesen Ver
stärker
konzipiert. Das Signal des Eingangs 1 wird über das
Modul geleitet und in der Frequenz erhöht (2, 4, 5
oder 6 Hz, einstellbar). Durch die Frequenzverschie-
bung wird ein optimaler Schutz gegen akustische
Rückkopplungen erreicht.
4.4.1
Einbau und Anschluss
1) Den Verstärker vom Netz und von der Notstrom-
versorgung trennen.
2) Den Gehäusedeckel des Verstärkers und die
Blende (32) auf der Verstärkerrückseite ab
-
schrauben.
3) Das Modul in die durch die Blende freigegebene
Aussparungen einsetzen und festschrauben.
4) Die 2-polige Leitung AN 702 (schwarz-braun)
des Verstärkers in die Buchse CN 702 des
Moduls stecken, siehe Lageplan Seite 48.
5) Die schwarz-rote 2-polige Leitung (A) des Ver-
stärkers in die Buchse CN 801 stecken.
Wenn das Anschlussmodul für das Komman-
domikrofon PA-6000RC zuvor eingesetzt wurde,
steckt die 2-polige Leitung bereits in der Buchse
CN 801 des Anschlussmoduls (gestrichelte Linie
im Lageplan Seite 48). Die Leitung vom An
-
schlussmodul abziehen und in die Buchse
CN 801 des PA-6FR stecken. Dafür die 2-polige
Leitung AN 801 des PA-6FR in die Buchse
CN 801 des Anschlussmoduls ste cken.
6) Die Brücke MS 401 des Verstärkers in die Posi-
tion „FR“ setzen.
4.4.2
Bedienung
Nach der Inbetriebnahme des Verstärkers den
Schalter ACTIVE (67) in die Position IN stellen. Über
den Eingang 1 eine Ansage in erforder licher Laut-
stärke durchgeben. In der Grundeinstellung, wenn
alle DIP-Schalter (68) in der oberen Position stehen,
beträgt die Frequenzverschiebung 2 Hz. Sollte es
trotz dieser Frequenzverschiebung zu einer Rück-
kopplung kommen, mit den DIP-Schaltern eine
höhere Frequenzverschiebung einstellen.

Aufstellen des Verstärkers
Der Verstärker ist für den Einschub in ein Rack für
Geräte mit einer Breite von 482 mm (19″) vorgese-
hen, kann aber auch als Tischgerät verwendet wer-
den. In jedem Fall muss Luft ungehindert durch alle
Lüftungsöffnungen strömen können, damit eine aus-
reichende Kühlung der Endstufe gewährleistet ist.
5.1 Rackeinbau
Für die Rackmontage werden 3 HE (3 Höheneinhei-
ten = 133 mm) benötigt. Damit das Rack nicht kopf-
lastig wird, muss der Verstärker im unteren Bereich
des Racks eingeschoben werden. Für eine sichere
Befestigung reicht die Frontplatte allein nicht aus.
Zusätz lich müssen Seitenschienen oder eine Boden-
platte das Gerät halten.
4.2.2
Calibration
1) Switch on the amplifier and turn the volume con-
trol MASTER (17) to zero so that only the 20 kHz
test tone is present at the speaker outputs.
2) Measure the voltage of the 20 kHz test tone at
the connection HIGH IMP (25) and adjust it to
2 V~ with the trimming control OSC Level (64).
3) Check the voltage of the 20 kHz test tone at the
measuring points “+ -” (63) of the module. Adjust
2 V~ with the trimming control Sensitivity (65).
4) After the calibration turn the control MASTER
again to the desired volume.
4.3 Fault monitoring module PA-6FM
The fault monitoring module PA-6FM (fig. 5) avail-
able as an accessory is especially designed for this
amplifier. Via the three relay outputs (66) signal de -
vices can be activated in case of the following faults:

switch over if no mains volt-
age is present, the internal mains fuse is blown, or
the mains switch (19) is not in ON position.

switch over if the fuse (38) for
the emergency power supply is blown or if no volt-
age from an emergency power supply unit is present
at the connections DC POWER (37).

switch over if the internal
fan is defective or if it is not connected.
Note:
All relay contacts also switch over when the amplifier
is switched off.
1) Disconnect the amplifier from the mains and
from the emergency power supply.
2) Screw off the housing cover of the amplifier and
remove the cover plate (29).
3) Insert the module PA-6FM from the outside at
the place of the cover plate and screw it tightly.
4) Connect the 6-pole line (C) of the amplifier to the
jack CN 5 of the module, see layout plan page 48.
5) Connect the signal devices for alarm triggering to
the relay switching contacts (66). The imprint on
the module shows the contact position in cause
of fault and with the amplifier switched off. The
rating of the relay contacts is 1 A at 120 V~ max.
or 24 V
max.
4.4 Anti-feedback module PA-6FR
The anti-feedback module PA-6FR (fig. 6) available
as an accessory is especially designed for this
amplifier. The signal of input 1 is routed via the mod-
ule and increased in frequency (2, 4, 5, or 6 Hz can
be adjusted). Due to the frequency displacement, an
optimum protection against acoustic feedback is
reached.
4.4.1
Installation and connection
1) Disconnect the amplifier from the mains and
from the emergency power supply.
2) Screw off the housing cover of the amplifier and
the cover (32) on the rear side of the amplifier.
3) Insert the module into the cutouts which are
uncovered when removing the cover and screw it
tightly.
4) Connect the 2-pole line AN 702 (black-brown) of
the amplifier to the jack CN 702 of the module,
see layout plan page 48.
5) Connect the black-red 2-pole line (A) of the
amplifier to the jack CN 801.
If the connection module for the zone paging
microphone PA-6000RC has been inserted be -
fore, the 2-pole line is already connected to the
jack CN 801 of the connection module (dashed
line in the layout plan page 48). Disconnect the
line from the connection module and connect it to
the jack CN 801 of the PA-6FR. For this purpose
connect the 2-pole line AN 801 of the PA-6FR to
the jack CN 801 of the connection module.
6) Place the jumper MS 401 of the amplifier to posi-
tion “FR”.
4.4.2
Operation
After setting the amplifier into operation, set the
switch ACTIVE (67) to position IN. Via the input 1
make an announcement in the required volume. In
the basic setting, when all DIP switches (68) are in
the upper position, the frequency displacement is
2 Hz. If an acoustic feedback should occur in spite of
this frequency displacement, adjust a higher fre-
quency displacement with the DIP switches.

Setting up the Amplifier
The amplifier is provided for the insertion into a rack
for units with a width of 482 mm (19″), but it can also
be used as a table top unit. In each case the air must
be able to circulate without obstruction through all
vents so that a sufficient cooling of the power ampli-
fier is ensured.
5.1 Rack installation
For rack mounting 3 rack spaces (= 133 mm) are
required. To prevent the rack from becoming top
heavy, the amplifier must be inserted in the lower
section of the rack. The front panel alone is not suf-
ficient for a safe fixing. In addition, lateral rails or a
bottom plate must fix the unit.
The heated air laterally blown off by the amplifier
must be able to dissipate from the rack. Otherwise a
heat accumulation will occur in the rack which may
not only damage the amplifier but also other units in
the rack. If the heat is not able to dissipate suffi-
ciently, insert a fan unit into the rack.
