Cable Carrier
The cable carrier (1)
, is attached to the base frame and supplies power to all
the components that are on the base frame. These develop a so-called "polygon effect"
during movement since the invidiual chain links get kinked. With a precise measuring
machine, this effect acts negatively on the measurement result. For this reason, a special
cable carrier which shows no polygon effect is used. This ensures a smooth run and
precise measurements.

Compressed Air Supply
The compressed air is used for the movement of the calibration component
and for air purging the sensors

Fig. 15 Housing of maintenance unit
The maintenance unit consists of a filter control unit for preparing the compressed air
and generating the working pressure. The compressed air is monitored electronically. In
the event of a drop in the nominal pressure from 5 bar to under 4 bar, a signal is sent to
the measuring machine's controller. The controller forwards this information to the user
interface.
