3.5 Cable Carrier
The cable carrier (1) , see Fig. 14 , is attached to the base frame and supplies power to all
the components that are on the base frame. These develop a so-called "polygon effect"
during movement since the invidiual chain links get kinked. With a precise measuring
machine, this effect acts negatively on the measurement result. For this reason, a special
cable carrier which shows no polygon effect is used. This ensures a smooth run and
precise measurements.

3.6 Compressed Air Supply
The compressed air is used for the movement of the calibration component , see Fig. 10
and for air purging the sensors , see Fig. 9 .
Commissioning work performed by the customer:
Connect the compressed air supply (2) , see Fig. 15 .

The maintenance unit consists of a filter control unit for preparing the compressed air
and generating the working pressure. The compressed air is monitored electronically. In
the event of a drop in the nominal pressure from 5 bar to under 4 bar, a signal is sent to
the measuring machine's controller. The controller forwards this information to the user
interface.
