1.3 Safety
System operation assumes knowledge of the operating instructions.
1.3.1 Symbols Used
The following symbols are used in these operating instructions:
CAUTION

Indicates a situation that may result in property damage if not avoid-

Indicates hardware or a software button/menu.
1.3.2 Intended Use
- The MTS 8202.LLT measuring machine is used for measuring the thickness of endless
belts/strips and plates.
- The measuring system must only be operated within the limits specified in the techni-
cal data
, see 9.3 .
- The system must be used in such a way that no persons are endangered or machines
are damaged in the event of malfunction or total failure of the system.
- Take additional precautions for safety and damage prevention in case of safety-related
applications.
