Drive and Linear Guide
The base frame is positioned horizontally by means of an electric drive unit and tooth
belt drive. An encoder mounted axially on the drive motor measures the position of the
base frame, so allowing a precise assignment of the measured values in the direction
transverse to the target.

3.3.2 Buffers
Limit switches (2) mounted on the linear guide detect the end positions of the base
frame. Buffers (1) prevent a collision of base frame and linear guide

Purge Air - Laser Scanners
Laser scanners are based on an optical principle. In order to avoid possible impairment
by e.g. dust on the laser scanner (lower belt), the glass surfaces of the laser beam exit
and the receiver are continuously air purged in order to prevent dirt deposits
