3.2.2 Sensors
The two triangulation scanners measure without contact the thickness of the strip as they
pass between the upper and lower beams of the measuring machine

Optional air purge at the sensors in the upper and lower beams reduces dust accu-
mulation, etc. on the glass panes for the sensors.

3.2.3 Calibration Component
For a reference measurement, a calibration component is used to detect deviations.
The calibration component holder is retracted into the measuring gap of the measur-
ing machine when required. The relevant calibration component is (note the chamfer)
mounted in the correct position in the calibration component holder. Following the
reference measurement, the measuring machine automatically positions the calibration
component holder in the parking position again.
