In such situations, turn the light switch to

Automatic headlamp mode is only an aid. The
driver is responsible for the vehicle lighting at
all times.
When it is dark or foggy, turn the light switch
from

to
L
in good time. The head-
lamps may otherwise be switched off tempora-
rily.

Switch the ignition lock to the drive posi-
tion.
X Turn the light switch to

The dipped-beam headlamps and side lamps
are switched on or off automatically depend-
ing on light conditions. When the dipped-
beam headlamps are switched on, the
T
indicator lamp in the instrument cluster
lights up.
On vehicles with daytime driving lights:
when the dipped-beam headlamps and side
lamps are switched off automatically, the
daytime driving lights come on.
If the rain/light sensor is malfunctioning, the
side lamps and dipped-beam headlamps are
automatically switched on and remain on.
Foglamps and rear foglamp

Turn the key to the drive position in the igni-
tion lock.
