member and the rear area. Use the widest
possible tension straps or chains with suitable
fixtures. If possible, use a lifting bag. Make
sure that no detachable frame components,
lines, cables or hoses become damaged.

The tension straps used when righting the
vehicle should, as far as possible, form an

guide pulleys or load-compensation rolls.
Avoid the application of external force at the
axles and axle connection parts.
Whenever possible, separate vehicle combina-
tions (trailer drawbars, electrical and pneu-
matic connections to the trailer) before right-
ing the vehicle.
Absorb forces while righting and do not allow
the vehicle to bounce on its suspension.
Recovering a stuck vehicle
! During recovery with the front and rear
recovery and lashing eyelets, make sure not
to exceed a maximum permissible tensile
force of 30 t. The angle of tension on the
vehicle longitudinal axis, evenly distributed
on the left and right eyelets, must not
exceed a maximum of 22.5°. Use the
shackle delivered with the vehicle.
! During recovery with the trailer coupling,
always comply with the manufacturer's
instructions. Use a towing lug according to
VG 74059 (tension angle max. 15°).
! During recovery with the front trailer tow
hitch, ensure that a maximum tension force
of 16 t with a suitable towing lug according
to VG 74059 (tension angle max. 15°) is not
exceeded.
To recover a stuck vehicle, use the front tow-
ing eyes provided (
Y
page 188), the trailer
coupling or the rear recovery and lashing eye-
lets (
Y
page 189).
Make sure that the recovery forces initiated
are applied evenly on the left and right eyelets
(front and rear).

ery and lashing eyelets (
