Notes
1. For a magnetic (variable reluctance) sensor, the maximum cable length depends on the sensor impedance, cable impedance, cable
routing and monitoring system (instrument) input impedance, and can vary from 10 to 500 m.
2. A TQ9xx-based measurement chain using an IQS900 configured with a current output and a GSI127 galvanic separation unit, allows
transmission over distances up to 1 km – longer than any other solution.
3. For applications in potentially explosive atmospheres (Ex Zones), the area can be considered as an EMC/ESD controlled environment so
the shield at the far end (other/sensor side) is not required.
4. For shielded EMC cabinets (cubicles), the inside of the cabinet can be considered as EMC/ESD controlled environment so shielding for the
wiring (cabling and connections) inside of the cabinet is not required, except for the speed signals.
