Adjusting Reel Clearance
Perform this procedure with reel at mid-point of fore-aft range and fully lowered.
DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected start-up or fall of raised machine, always stop engine,
remove key, and engage safety props before going under header for any reason.

1.
Adjust outboard reel arm lift cylinders to set clearance
as follows:
a.
Loosen bolt (A).
b.
Turn cylinder rod (B) out of clevis to raise reel and
increase clearance to cutterbar, or turn cylinder rod
into clevis to lower reel and decrease clearance.
c.
Tighten bolt (A).
d.
Repeat at opposite side.

2.
Double Reel:
Adjust center arm lift cylinder link (A) to
set clearance at center of reel as follows:
NOTE:
This adjustment is most easily performed from
underside of arm.
a.
Loosen nut (B).
b.
Turn nut (C) counterclockwise to raise reel and
increase clearance to cutterbar, or clockwise to
lower reel and decrease clearance.
c.
Tighten nut (B).
3.
Move reel back to ensure steel end fingers do not contact deflector shields.
4.
If contact is evident, adjust reel upward to maintain clearance at all reel fore/aft positions. Alternatively, trim
steel end fingers to obtain proper clearance.
5.
Periodically check for evidence of contact, and adjust clearance as required.
