TS, TR, TX engines workshop manual

31. Rotate the crankcase to check for free movement.

32. Repeat the procedure for the remaining cylinders.

33. Replace the oil pump push rod and then the pump.

34. Replace the sump ensuring the oil strainer is fitted

correctly.

35. Turn the engine the normal way up and replace the oil

dipstick.

36. Replace the fuel pump tappets and tappet caps.

37. Refit the air baffles with the spring clips facing the manifold

side.

38. Replace the fuel pumps and shims.

39. Replace the governor sleeve assembly with the spring ring

facing outwards.

40. Replace the governor lever assembly and both fulcrum pins

taking care to ensure the holes are acing outwards.

41. Check the end play between pivot and lever assembly is

correct.

42. Connect the governor interconnecting lever to the fuel

pump racks.

43. Adjust the fuel pump racks.

44. Reconnect the speeder spring to its control.

45. Check the governor lever and rack for correct operation.

46. Set the governor.

47. Replace the camshaft end float shims and then the camshaft

thrust washer.

48. Replace the end cover using the service tool to protect the

oil seal.

49. Check the camshaft end float.

50. Remove the retaining tube from No.1 cylinder.

51. Replace the cylinder head and diagonally torque the bolts.

52. Check the cylinder head clearance.

53. With the cylinder head removed, replace the push rods

and tubes: a very small mount of grease added to the tube

sealing rubbers will ease the fitting of the heads.

54. Replace the cylinder head making sure it is fully seated and

then replace the bolts hand tight.

55. Repeat the procedure for the remaining cylinders.

56. Replace a manifold with one nut on each cylinder head to

ensure the heads are correctly aligned.

57. Torque the cylinder head nuts.

58. Remove the manifold.

59. Spill time the fuel pumps.

60. Replace the side shields at the gear and flywheel ends.

61. Replace the air cowling.

62. Replace both manifolds.

63. Replace the valve rocker oil feed pipe to the heads and

crankcase.

64. Turn the engine to TDC No. 1 cylinder firing stroke and

set the inlet and exhaust valve clearances: repeat for the

remaining cylinders.

65. Check the fuel injector setting.

66. Replace the injectors with a new washer and leak off pipes.

67. Replace the injector clamp.

68. Replace the fuel pipes.

69. Tighten all of the fuel pipes.

70. Replace the fuel pump inspection doors.

71. Replace the valve rocker covers.

72. Replace the lifting eye.

73. Refit the air filter, alternator, starter and fuel tank, reconnect

all services and replenish the fuel and oil supplies.
