switches the corresponding channel on, whereupon three relay closing conditions
become available. Two top conditions set the relay response to the first and second
threshold levels. When both conditions are enabled, then Boolean operation be-
tween these must be defined; in case of “AND”, relay tripping requires simultane-
ous fulfillment of both conditions, in case of “OR”, relay is closed at fulfillment of
either condition. The third condition allows consideration of measurement status
(with mask) at relay signal generation. After it is enabled, indicate when relay is to
be closed (in case of zero status, neither of situations indicated in the status mask
occurred; in case of non-zero status, one or more situations occurred). Status masks
for both relay channels are located on panel on the right; their setting is similar to
that of alarm current signal masks. In case that one or both threshold level condi-
tions are selected in addition to the measurement status, status criterion is combined
with threshold one by means of “AND” / “OR” similarly to that described above for
the first and second threshold conditions.
For example, setting shown in Fig. 6.14 enables both relay and sets the following
order of their tripping. The first relay will be closed at readings falling beyond any
of threshold values (

H ) with measurement status ignored. While
the second relay, on the contrary, will be closed at product level being within the
permissible limits (
500 > H or 7000 < H ) and zero status bits 0,1,2,6,7,10,11 (sub-
ject to stable and valid readings, and normal level transmitter operating conditions).
