Memory slots

There are four memory slots on the system board. For more information, see “Memory module” on page 53.

System fan connector

Used to connect a system fan.

Microprocessor socket

Used to install the microprocessor.

SATA connector

Used to connect an HDD or a slim optical drive.

11 12

Front panel connector

Used to connect to the front panel board.

M.2 SSD connector

Used to install an M.2 SSD.

USB 2.0 connector

Used to connect the two USB connectors on the front panel.

TPM connector

Used to connect a TPM. TPM is a security chip that is used to enhance server security.

Riser card assembly slot

Used to install the riser card assembly.

Clear CMOS jumper

Used to clear CMOS and turn the BIOS settings into the factory default settings.

To clear CMOS, do the following:

1. Prepare your server. See “Preparing your server in advance” on page 47.

2. Do one of the following:

• Remove the coin-cell battery for a few minutes. Then, reinstall it. See “Coin-cell battery” on page 82.

• Use the two levers of a tweezer to touch the two metal contacts of the jumper for a few seconds.

3. Reinstall the server cover and connect the power cords. See “Completing the parts replacement”

on page 95 .

4. Turn on the server. The clearing CMOS process is completed.
