3. Touch the static-protective package that contains the slim optical drive to any unpainted surface on the
outside of the server. Then, take the slim optical drive out of the package.
4. Slide the slim optical drive into the chassis from the front of the server.

5. Attach the slim-optical-drive retainer to the side of the slim optical drive. Then, tighten the thumbscrew
1 to secure the slim-optical-drive retainer.
