D. Install RIPS Module
Recorders are delivered without the RIPS Module installed. To install the RIPS Mod-
ule, take the following steps, as described in “Figure 705 Install RIPS Module“.
The CVDR may or may not be delivered or installed with the RIPS connected. To in-
stall the RIPS, take the following steps as illustrated in Figure 705.
(1) Ensure that the CVDR is not powered.
(2) Remove protection cap from the RIPS connector.
(3) Remove protection cover from the CVDR connector. Keep both the RIPS Con-
nector Cap and Connector Cover for future use.
(4) Line up the RIPS Module in the most rearward position while aligning the RIPS
in the guide slots of the CVDR.
(5) Slide the RIPS Module forward within the guides until the connector engages
and the RIPS Module face is flush with the CVDR.
(6) Use a screwdriver to turn the RIPS Module retaining screw clockwise
(snug-tight) to fully seat the RIPS Module.
