The 90-day ULB is considered hazardous and must be shipped in accordance
with federal laws and regulations.

The RIPS battery is a lead-acid battery with NO Lithium content and it is not
considered a hazardous material. No special shipping precautions are neces-
sary.

A shipment package kit, P/N: 147E5161-01, may be ordered from L3 Aviation
Products if the original container is not available.
B. Return Equipment from Outside the United States

Import Compliance
All International shipments must be routed through L3 Aviation Products’ freight for-
warder in Orlando, Florida. Clearly mark paperwork with “American Manufactured
Goods Returned”.

Extremely important if shipment is ITAR or USML:
If exemption 123.4(a)(1) is not cited when the item is temporarily returned to, or im-
ported by L3AP, L3 must submit:
1.
a Voluntary Self

Disclosure for failure to cite the exemption; and
2.
an application for a DoS license/DSP-5 to return the repaired item to its foreign
owner.
