Also, storing the entire data word may help the GSE reconstruct the message exchange
during post-processing.
The DataLink task keeps track of any protocol errors that occur while processing the
DataLink messages. All errors are sent to the BITE task so that they can be properly for-
matted and logged. Likewise, when an error condition no longer exists, a message is sent
to the BITE task indicating that a particular error is no longer valid.
A DataLink fault will be asserted via the BITE task if the “DataLink Valid” signal is assert-
ed and the recorder does not receive status via Label 270 for more than 3 seconds.
Specifically, messages with Label 270 should always be received once a second when
“DataLink Valid” is asserted. This will also cause bit 18 of Label 350 (DataLink Interface)
to be asserted. Likewise, if Label 270 is being received and the “DataLink Valid” signal is
not asserted, bit 18 of Label 350 will be asserted. However, this is not a fault condition.
