D. Data Storage Task
The Data Storage task is used to manage the storage of all of the input data streams into
a Crash Survivable Memory Unit (CSMU). This task receives audio data from the CVR
task and ARINC 429 data from the DataLink task. The Data Storage task manages where
the data is stored in the CSMU. Following the ED-112 specification, each type of data will
be stored in its own partition. Different partitions are defined as follows:
Microphone Partition
CAM Partition
DataLink Partition
The hardware and software will be architected in such a way that the DataLink messages
are stored in their own partition, even though ED-112 states that this data can be stored
in the Microphone partition. Doing this will make it easier to download and process the
DataLink messages.
