Field Verification of File Transfer Operability
General Information
Field verification of file transfer operability:
1. To transfer files wirelessly from the Eyewitness
®
HD system to the station’s storage
server, the user must first park the vehicle within range of the station’s wireless network.
If the system is using the Eyewitness
®
HD’s integrated Wi-Fi card, the user
should see the wireless signal strength meter indicate that a connection is
present.

Note: If a wired Ethernet connection, Wi-Fi Ethernet bridge or similar setup that utilizes
the wired Ethernet connection on the Eyewitness
®
HD is used, the TMC screen
will not display Wi-Fi signal strength.
2. Record a short test file. During recording, wave hand in front of camera or similar so
that this recording can be easily identified later.
3. Once the recording has stopped and the technician has selected the stop/hold
classifications, if applicable, the Eyewitness
®
HD will attempt to transfer files within 30
seconds.
4. During file transfer, the technician will see a series of prompts:
First, the DVR will display the ‘Starting file transfer session’ message as the
server is pinged and the DVR logs in to the FTP server.
