DVR / System Serial Number Locations
The serial number for the DVR is provided on a label on the rear panel of the DVR. A photo of
the label is provided in Chapter 1 of this manual.
Preparing the DVR for Mounting
The following items must be done prior to mounting the DVR and battery backup:
1. Determine the desired mounting positions for the DVR.
2. Once the mounting location is determined, check for any conditions that will restrict cable
routing.
Mounting the DVR
The following image is included to show a typical floor mount configuration. When floor
mounting a DVR, it is very important to take the surrounding components into consideration.
Mounting the unit may require drilling holes. The technician needs to know what is behind the
panel that they will be drilling through. In some locations, there may be obstacles, such as fuel
tanks, behind the panel. Those mounting locations should be avoided. The technician also
needs to make sure that the final mounting position will leave adequate room for the memory
drive to be removed and installed. This typically requires 5” of space in front of the DVR.
IMPORTANT
When selecting a mounting location, DO NOT select a location
where items will be stacked on top of or around the DVR. The
system must be able to dissipate heat using the heat sync on
the rear of the unit.
