Installing Wireless N File Transfer 5.0 GHz Antenna Components

The optional vehicle equipment that is required to allow for the wireless transfer of files in a
Digital Eyewitness
®
HD system consists of two external trunk lid mounted antennas and a
factory installed internal wireless transfer card.
IMPORTANT
The standard configuration of the Eyewitness
®
HD system
utilizes 5.0 GHz antennas. The system may be ordered with a
2.4 GHz antenna for those departments whose back-office
system is configured to use 2.4 GHz communication.
5.0 GHz systems will use two (2) antennas, while 2.4 GHz
systems will use a single antenna.
To install the wireless file transfer components, the technician will need the following items:
Wireless antenna
3/32” Allen wrench
1. Determine the mounting location of the mount. It should be as far away as possible
from other antennas. Typically, it is desired to have the two antennas mounted on the
left and right sides of the trunk or hood.
2. Position the trunk lid mount antenna assembly at the desired location on the trunk or
hood.

3. Route and dress the trunk lid/hood mount’s cable to the DVR.
