Risk of operating trouble!
An electrical SFP based Ethernet port does not support synchronous Ether-
net.
Risk of operating trouble!
An Ethernet port operating in 1000BASE-T mode supports only unidirec-
tional synchronous Ethernet.
→ A 1000BASE-T Ethernet port transports timing information only from
the clock master to the clock slave.
Risk of operating trouble!
An Ethernet port operating in 10BASE-T mode cannot be used for the syn-
chronous Ethernet.
QL Transmission
Source
ESI-1
Synchronization sources are all the PDH clock
sources as they are configured at the AP: /ne,
Configuration - PETS.
The PTP-x sources are only available if the PTP
mode is not disabled at the AP: /ne, Configura-
tion - PTP.
These values are read-only.

Internal
Usage
NA
No synchronization method has been selected.
CanBeUsed
Transmit the QL value of the selected synchroni-
zation source
DoNotUse
Transmit the QL value 15, i.e. indicating that the
traffic signal cannot be used as a synchroniza-
tion source.
Input Mapping
Table
Received QL
1 … 14
A received quality level in the range 1 to 14 can
be adapted to any other QL which will then be
used in the PETS and ESO selection process.
The default is a 1:1 mapping.
Note that a lower QL means a higher clock qual-
ity.

Table
Transmitted QL
1 … 14
A PETS internally used quality level in the range
1 to 14 can be adapted to any other QL which
will then be used in the SSM of the correspond-
ing transmit signal.
The default is a 1:1 mapping.
Note that a lower QL means a higher clock qual-
ity.
Please refer to
[314] User Guide “TDM Services
and Cross Connections in XMC20”
tion of the quality level handling.
