Functional Description

5.3

Equipment Protection EQP (Core Unit Redundancy)

The XMC25 and XMC23 network elements support 1:1 equipment protection
for the core unit by installing a redundant core unit in slot 13 of the XMC25 or
XMC23 subrack.

For the redundant core unit installation procedure please refer to section

7.3.4 ESW Download on a redundant COGE5 Unit plugged in the first Time

(on page 64).
