Descriptions / Details
Port Config
PTP Mode
Disabled
The port is not used as a PTP port.
The PTP port cannot be used as PETS synchro-
nization source.
Ordinary/Boundary Clock
Use the port as PTP port of an ordinary or
boundary clock.
Transparent Clock
Use the port as PTP port of a transparent clock.
Note that the PTP clock type is typically config-
ured to “Disabled”, but can also be configured to
“Ordinary Clock” or “Boundary Clock”.
Ordinary/Boundary and
Transparent Clock
This mode will be supported in a future release.
Role
Slave
The PTP port is a slave port.
The PTP port can be used as PETS synchroni-
zation source.
Master
The PTP port is a master port.
The PTP port cannot be used as PETS synchro-
nization source.
The master role is not supported if the PTP clock
type is configured to “Ordinary Clock”.
Master Or Slave
The PTP port is a slave or a master port,
depending of the forwarding direction of the tim-
ing information.
The PTP port can be used as PETS synchroni-
zation source.
Encapsulation
Ethernet
PTP packets are encapsulated in Ethernet MAC
frames.
Et VLAN
PTP packets are encapsulated in Ethernet MAC
frames with a VLAN tag.
Addressing
Unicast
Use unicast PTP messaging.
Multicast
Use multicast PTP messaging.
Ethernet Configura-
tion
VLAN ID
1 … 4089
VLAN ID to be used with Et VLAN
encapsulation.
Priority
CoS 0 … CoS 3 … CoS 7
VLAN Class of Service to be used with Ethernet
+ VLAN encapsulation.
Unicast Destination
MAC
<MAC address>
Enter the MAC address of the remote Ethernet
port (Master) when using the unicast addressing
scheme.
Default: A0:00:00:00:00:01
Forward Multicast
Messages
Forwarding of multicast messages is required if
the grand master clock generates multicast
frames.
