The COGE5 front Ethernet ports (port-a) are used for the connection of
external equipment.

The COGE5 implements two different types of Ethernet front ports:
• 2 SFP/SFP+ based ports (port-1 and port-2), and
• 3 electrical ports (port-3, port-4 and port-5).
The SFP/SFP+ based ports provide SFP cages for the implementation of
SFP/SFP+ modules. The supported speeds are 1000 Mbit/s (1 Gbit/s) and
10’000 Mbit/s (10 Gbit/s) according to the deployed SFP or SFP+ module.
The electrical ports provide speeds of 10, 100 or 1000 Mbit/s.
