General description
3.1
Use
Pumps from KESSEL AG pump domestic, municipal and industrial wastewater, faeces and sludges, including
those with a high share of solids and fibrous material, as well as all kinds of grey water. From small residential and
industrial buildings through to large pumping stations and sewage treatment plants. The pumps can pump abrasive
media such as surface water. With very abrasive fractions such as concrete gravel and sand in the medium, the
impeller and pump housing have to be protected against excessive wear and/or the maintenance interval has
to be shortened. In principle, the pumps are planned for use in specially designed KESSEL chamber systems
(engineering chambers). They may not be used in slurping operation. The minimum level of the pumping medium
must always be above the upper edge of the pump housing [1]. The motor housing must always be fully submerged
for use in S1 operation . In the operating mode S3 (30%), the pump can also be operated emerged, whereby the
minimum level must once again always be above the upper edge of the pump housing (1) . The pumping medium
temperature can be up to 40°C, temporarily up to a maximum of 60°C. The maximum density of the pumping
medium is 1040 kg/m³ and the pH value can be 6 - 11.

Types of use
The motor is designed for the operating mode S 1 (permanent operation) with a max. switching frequency of 15
switchings/hour. The hydraulics are suitable for permanent operation.
3.3
Design
The fully submersible unit consists of the motor, pump housing and the matching impeller.
All important components are generously dimensioned.
