OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

EATON TRANSMISSION MODES

Reverse Mode

• Selects default

everse gear (see Note* below).

• Each time

everse is selected from

eutral, the default

everse

gear is engaged.

• The vehicle will not engage

everse above 2 mph.

• On multi-speed auxiliary models,

and

shifts will

only be made by manually up or down shifting while driving.

• Single-speed auxiliary (10-speed) and medium-duty models have

only one reverse speed.

The transmission cannot range shift while moving, but the driver can split

shift while moving if the vehicle is equipped with a multi-speed auxiliary

section.

is only available on the UltraShift PLUS Multipurpose Extreme

Performance (MXP) and UltraShift PLUS Vocational Extreme Performance

(VXP) models.
*If you attempt to select a non-neutral mode without depressing the service

brakes the transmission will not shift into gear and you will have to return to

Neutral and depress the brakes before selecting the desired mode again.

Launching the vehicle in high range increases the likelihood of clutch

abuse, and depending on the level of usage, could have a detrimental

impact on clutch life.
