Example
• A and C cannot communicate with each other
directly (without using a repeater) as they are too
far away.
• A and B can communicate with each other directly
(without using a repeater) as they are close to
each other.
Without using the Talk Around function, you must
change the transmit frequency and Signalling
corresponding to the receiving party’s
configuration. However, communication between
A and B is possible when using the Talk Around
function as the transceiver transmits using the
receive frequency and Signalling (QT/DQT).
4.2.7 Scan
This function allows you to monitor multiple
programmed Channels in the transceiver for a signal.
Press the [Scan] key to begin scanning.
Scan pauses to receive a signal when a signal
becomes present on a Channel.
The scan function allows you to monitor a high priority
Channel when receiving a call on another Channel.
Press the [Scan] key again to exit this function.
Refer to “5 Scan Information” for details.
4.2.8 Scan
Del/Add
This function allows you to select Channels to add to
or remove from the Scan List.
You can delete unnecessary Channels to enhance
the Scan speed.
Press the [Scan Del/Add] key to select whether or not
to add (or remove) the selected Channel in the Scan
List.
Channels that are added to the Scan List are
identified with the A icon.
Deleted Channels are skipped when the Scan is
executed.
The Del/Add status for each Channel is stored even if
the transceiver is turned OFF.
Press the [Scan Del/Add] key during Scan to execute
the Temporary Delete function.
The Temporary Delete function is used to delete
Channels on which Scan pauses.
Exit Scan or turn the transceiver OFF to reset the
temporarily deleted Channels to their default state.
4.2.9 Emergency
Press the [Emergency] key to enter the Emergency
Mode.
The transceiver enters the Emergency mode when
the [Emergency Call] key is pressed for longer than
the Emergency Key Delay time.
Emergency Mode operates according to “Edit >
Emergency Information” in the FPU.
4.2.10 AUX
Press the [AUX] key to switch the AUX (Output)
terminal logic.
The AUX terminal logic toggles between High and
Low each time the [AUX] key is pressed. When the
AUX terminal logic is low, the AUX icon appears.
The AUX terminal logic level is stored even if the
transceiver is turned OFF.
This allows you to control an optional board or an
external device using the transceiver keys.
4.2.11 Horn
Alert
The Horn Alert (output) logic function allows the
output to be switched when receiving a DTMF string
that matches the programmed DTMF ID code.
Press the [Horn Alert] key to activate this function.
The “-HA-” icon appears.
Press the [Horn Alert] key again to exit this function.
Refer to “6.3.10 Horn Alert Logic” for details.
4.2.12 Display
Character
This function allows you to toggle the display
between “Channel Name” and “Grp#/Ch#”.
Normally, the Channel Name appears on the display.
The Channel Number appears when a channel does
not have a name.
You can program this setting in “Edit > Channel
Information” of the FPU.
