The Radio Password protects the use of the
transceiver.
This function prevents the transceiver from being
used by unauthorized persons.
When the Password function is activated, you must
enter the correct password in order to use the
transceiver.
Program the Password with up to 6 digits using the
numbers 1 ~ 4.
“PASSWORD” appears when turning the transceiver
ON, when the Radio Password is programmed.
• Entering the Password Using the Keypad
Microphone (KMC-32):
Enter the Password using the keypad, then and
press the [#] key.
• Entering the Password Using the transceiver
keys:
Enter the password using [MON], [SCN], [
], and
[
|
] keys, then press the [CH DOWN] key.
[MON], [SCN], [

following numbers.

[SCN] = 2

3.2.5 Data
Password
This function prevents the operating frequencies and
configuration data from being read by unauthorized
persons, when the transceiver is stolen.
Program the Password with up to 6 digits using the
numbers 1 ~ 4.
You must enter the Password when reading or writing
the configuration data with the FPU. You must also
enter the Password when operating the transceiver in
Self Programming mode or using it as the Master in
Clone Mode.
• Entering the Password in Clone Mode or Self
Programming Mode Using the Keypad

Enter the Password via the keypad, then press the
[#] key.
• Entering the Password in Clone Mode or Self
Programming Mode Using the keys of the
transceiver:
Enter the password using [MON], [SCN], [

You cannot overwrite the data in the Clone Mode
when the Data Password is programmed. In such a
case, the user cannot use the transceiver as a Slave
transceiver.
3.2.6 Power On Text
You can program the Power On Text that appears for
2 seconds when the transceiver is turned ON.
You can program the Text in “Edit > Optional
Features 1” with up to 8 characters for the Power On
Text using the following characters:

Character
You can select the type of character (Channel Name
or Group Number – Channel Number) that appears
on the display.
