One or all of the Key pad buttons do not perform as described above.
Suggested Solution:
1. Check the wiring.
2. Check the solenoid conductive casing is not shorting any of the pads
on the keypad PCB. Check that the pins on the underside of this PCB
boards are trimmed short.
3. Check crimp terminals are not loose
4. check for any wire cuts
5. Measure voltage between PIN1 and PIN 6 either on the board or on the
Molex connector with the unit switched ON and the keypad PCB
connected to the hand piece PCB.
PL2 –12 way Molex Umbilical Connector
This 12-way cable shown in Figure 2 below connects the Hand Piece PCB to
the Base unit. In addition to providing power to all the electronics and the LED
housed in the hand unit PCB, it also facilitates communication between the
base unit PCB and the Hand Piece PCB and subsequently to the host PC.
The PIN colour codes as well as the PIN assignments are shown below.
Communication ERROR!
This is usually flagged during calibration or Boot-Mode programming. While in
most cases such failure would not allow and communication to the PC and
thus the calibration software would flag it, in some cases, limited
communication may be possible. If this is the case, the problem will not
manifest itself until large data transmission between Hand Piece Unit and the
PC starts. Large data transmission starts during solenoid time calibration and
there after during internal/ external pressure measurement and calculation. If
there is a problem here, the data transmission between Puffs will be
slow
