Handset
The handset comprises 2 main sections, the valve/reservoir assembly and the
mainframe assembly. For both of these the handset must be opened.
Opening the handset
Remove the Puff Tube Shroud on the patient side of the unit by unscrewing it.
Remove the Eyepiece Shroud on the rear panel of the unit by unscrewing it.
Press the brow bar to release it into the open position. This will reveal a
M3 x 10 Pozi Screw – remove it.
Pull the target LED cover out from the handset and spring the wings out to
bring the retainer lugs outside the handset and then pull it right off. Take care
not to damage the 2 target LEDs on their PCB
Undo the cable clamp on the umbilical
Carefully lift the 2 wings of the large white shroud – they are retained by
double sided adhesive tape. Remove the shroud from the handset.
Pierce 3 off plastic plugs concealing screws joining the 2 case halves
together. The remnants of the plugs can be pushed out using the screws
once the case halves are separated. This will expose 5 off M2 x 12 cap head
screws which should now be removed using a 1.5 mm Allen key.
The other case half can now be removed
Carefully inspect the case halves for any signs of damage which will either
prevent them being reassembled correctly or be cosmetically unacceptable.
