Keypad operation
This section describes how to control devices, such as cameras, recorders and
decoders/encoders, using the keypad.
Once the keypad has been configured, you are then ready to take control of the devices
using the Shortcut menu of the keypad. This menu can be accessed by both the
administrator and operators.

: The keypad LCD display is only available in English.
Keypad modes to control a device
There are four shortcut keypad modes that let you select which device and function to
control using the keypad (see Figure 5 and Table 1 below). Selecting the
Shortcut
function when you log into the keypad gets you direct access to the keypad operational
modes.
The keypad modes are independent of each other. If you have selected one and then
want to access another, press MODE to return to
Shortcut
and then select the desired
keypad mode. See Figure 13 and Table 1 below.
Note
: The devices connected to the keypad may not be controlled by all four keypad
modes. See Table 7 on page 46 for the list of supported devices by keypad mode.

Keyboard
This mode allows you to access the devices using the
keypad as if you were using the security system. You can
control devices such as IP cameras, IP dome cameras,
DVRs, NVRs, decoders, encoders, as well as control
multiview. There is usually a decoder linked to the keypad
when using multiview.
You can add devices to be managed by the keypad using
the web browser and give each a unique device ID.
