Technical Product Specification

Getting Started

6. The A1 and B1 connections provide redundant power feeds to power tray 1. For full

redundancy, these connections must:

— Have independent circuit breakers

— Come from different sources (or at least different phases)

7. The A2 and B2 connections provide redundant power feeds to power tray 2. For full

redundancy, these connections must:

— Have independent circuit breakers

— Come from different sources (or at least different phases)

8. Feed the power cables through the foam cable gasket in the service panel cover and replace the

cover.

9. Once power is connected, the power standby switch may be used to turn on the system.

Warning:

The power standby switch does not turn off power to the system. The system must be disconnected
from the power source(s) to remove all power.

Connecting DC Power (P2 Option)

1. Ensure that the power standby switch is in the “standby” (

) Ensure that the power standby

switch is in the “standby” (

) position. See

Figure 10, “ZT 5085 Example System (Rear)”

for switch location. Ensure that the state of the power feed is known and correct

prior to connecting power. It is recommended that the feed be disabled.

2. Remove the service panel cover from the DC terminal block.

3. Connect the DC supply terminals to the terminal block. Connections should be made with #10

ring terminals (use copper conductors only). Conductors should be of adequate size to
accommodate the maximum power output of the supplies (250 W multiplied by the number of
supplies powered from each feed) plus 20 percent for supply inefficiency. To provide DC input
power redundancy, connect both the A and B inputs. See

Figure 12, “ZT 5085 DC Power Input

Panel (P2)” on page 27
