Getting Started
It is not considered a valid configuration to have CMM and BD_SEL# jumpers installed
simultaneously. This configuration may cause software to behave incorrectly.
2.4.2
Slot Assignments
The ZT 5085's midplane supports geographic addressing; each slot is individually addressed to
match its slot number.
The midplane is fully hot swap compliant and buses individual clocks from the multi-purpose slots
(slots 9, 10, 11, and 12) to each of the peripheral slots (slots 3-8 and 13-18). Refer to the
CompactPCI Specification, PICMG 2.0, R3.0 for additional information on slot addressing and
signal assignment. See
Appendix C, “Data Sheet Reference”
for document ordering information.
Note:
Removing all CMM’s from a running system may cause all boards to reset or shut down.
2.4.3
Setting V(I/O)
The ZT 5085 midplane provides six independent V(I/O) planes, one for each of the four
CompactPCI segments and one for each of the two fabric slots. Each V(I/O) plane can
independently be strapped for either 3.3 V or 5 V V(I/O). The ZT 5085 chassis default V(I/O)
setting is 5 V.
lists the slot capabilities for the different V(I/O) settings.
