6.3.2 Connecting the Carrier Gas Particulate Filter
1 Remove the shipping caps from the Micro GC Fusion carrier gas inlet.
2 Install one carrier gas particulate filter (PN 059-0701) on the carrier gas supply
tubing for each carrier gas used. Do not connect the tubing directly to Micro GC
Fusion.
CAUTION
The carrier gas particulate filter prevents particles in the carrier gas from
entering Micro GC Fusion. Connecting carrier gas tubing directly to the carrier
gas inlet without installing the carrier gas particulate filter may damage Micro
GC Fusion.

Cut off valve (not provided)
• Install the carrier gas particulate filter, using the supplied fittings, within 15 cm (6
in.) of the Micro GC Fusion fitting to maximize its effectiveness
• Use a cut off valve (not provided) for ease of maintenance. The valve should be
"packless" (sealed to atmosphere) and grease free. Do not use common industrial
or home-supply ball valves
• Chemical traps on the carrier gas line may be used to protect the column
6.3.3 Setting Carrier Gas Pressure
Use a dual-stage regulator to reduce carrier gas tank output pressure down to an
appropriate input pressure for Micro GC Fusion. Set the carrier gas output pressure on
a dual-stage regulator as shown below.
