Working with Internal Disk Drives

Installing Additional Hot-Swap Drives

Use this procedure to install additional drives in the expansion unit.
You can install additional drives while the expansion unit is
powered up and running.

Before you begin

Read “Handling Static-Sensitive Devices” on page 20.

Read the instructions that come with the internal drive.

Handle the drive-tray assembly carefully

1. Check for Fault LEDs. If any amber LEDs are lit, refer to

Table 2 on page 60.
