Front Controls
Front Controls
The primary user controls on the front of the expansion unit are
shown in the following illustration.
Power/Fault LED
Front Panel
Activity LED
Drive CRU
Drive Levers Drive Latch
Drive CRU: These ten bays, found on the front of the
expansion unit, are each able to house one drive. The CRU
contains the tray, lever, latch, and the hard disk drive.
Drive LEDs:
There are twenty LEDs (two for each drive)
located on the front panel above the drive bays.
Activity LEDs: These ten green lights, found on the left side
of each pair of lights, indicate drive activity when flashing.
Power/Fault LEDs: The power/fault LEDs are on the right
side of each pair of lights.

Green light indicates the drive is installed.
Ÿ
Amber light indicates a drive failure.
Ÿ
Amber and green flashing light indicates a drive rebuild.
Drive Levers: These multi-purpose levers are used to remove
and insert the drives in place.
Drive Latch: This multi-purpose latch is used to release and
lock the drives in place.
