Working with Internal Disk Drives
2. Remove the blank drive tray:
a. Pull out the bottom of the drive latch

to release the lever.
b. Lift the drive lever

all the way up and slide the blank
tray out of the bay.
3. Install the drive:
a. Pull up on the drive latch

to open the drive lever

b. Label the drive

according to the instructions in “Drive
Numbering” on page 39.
c. Slide the drive into the empty bay.
d. Make sure the hooks

on the top edge of the drive

engage the metal lip on the chassis.
e. Lower the drive lever

and lock the drive latch

4. Check the LEDs.
a. When drives are ready for use, the green Activity LED is off
and the green Power/Fault LEDs are on.
