S5600 controller subrack (FC host ports)

The type of the S5600 controller subrack is configured with two controllers. Each controller
carries two FC host port modules. Each FC host port module supports four FC host ports.
The type of the S5600 controller subrack has sixteen FC host ports in total.

The S5600 storage device (FC host ports) and ASs form the FC SAN over the FC protocol.

S5600 controller subrack (FC and iSCSI host ports)

The type of the S5600 controller subrack is configured with two controllers. Each controller
carries one FC port module and one Internet Small Computer Systems Interface (iSCSI)
port module. Each FC port module supports four FC host ports. Each iSCSI port module
supports two iSCSI host ports. Therefore, each S5600 controller subrack provides eight FC
host ports and four iSCSI host ports.

The S5600 storage device (FC and iSCSI host ports) and ASs achieve seamless integration
of FC SAN and IP SAN over FC and iSCSI protocols.

Figure 1-2

shows the typical networking of the S5600 controller subrack (FC host ports).
