2.1.2 Connecting to an IP LAN
For video communications over an IP LAN, the terminal must first connect to the IP LAN.
For details about how to use an IP network cable to connect the LAN 1 interface of the terminal
to the network interface of a LAN device, see the method of connecting to an IP LAN in
.
2.1.3 Connecting to a Private-E1-Line Network
For video communications over a private-E1-line network, the terminal must first connect to the
private-E1-line network.
CAUTION
l
Do not connect outdoor cables directly to the indoor terminal. When outdoor E1 lines
(unbalanced) are led indoors, lightning arresters are required. Contact the technical support
engineers for help with any questions.
l
The connection of E1 lines must comply with appropriate grounding specifications. For
details, see
An E1 interface card provides one or four balanced-output interfaces. If an E1 interface card has
been purchased and installed, connect the terminal to a private-E1-line network.
If the private-E1-line network supports only unbalanced interfaces, convert the balanced signals
into unbalanced ones using an E1 balanced-unbalanced converter in the following way: Fasten
the two BNC connectors of an E1 line (unbalanced) to the Rx (receive) and Tx (output) interfaces
of the E1 balanced-unbalanced converter respectively.
2.1.4 Connecting to a Private-4E1-Line Network
For video communications over a private-4E1-line network, the terminal must first connect to
the private-4E1-line network.
The E1 interface card described in section
2.1.3 Connecting to a Private-E1-Line Network
provides four lines, independent communication channels, that can be terminated at different
remote ends. The four lines can be used based on actual requirements.
If the four lines are used simultaneously to access a private-4E1-line network, the transmitted
data will be multiplexed across the four E1 channels to one remote terminal. A 4E1 interface
