5.1 Initiating a Conference Using Different Methods

The home screen provides multiple methods to initiate a conference. You can choose one based
on the actual situation.

You can define multiple sites on the terminal and call these sites at the same time to initiate a
multipoint conference. During the multipoint conference, all the sites can hear the voice and
view the video of the other sites.

5.1.1 Initiating a Conference from the Conference List Screen

You can select an ongoing conference from the conference list and join the conference.

Prerequisites

A GK is used on the conferencing system, and the conference list contains conference scheduling
information.

Context

If a GK is used on the conferencing system, you can download the information about scheduled
conferences from the ResourceManager (RM) to the conference list on the terminal to check
these scheduled conferences.

If the local site exits a multipoint conference and the conference is still ongoing, this conference
will appear in

Conference List

, and you can join the conference again.

The following two icons are used to indicate the conference status:

l

: indicates that the conference is in progress.

l

: indicates that the conference does not start yet.

Procedure

On the home screen, select

Conference List

.

NOTE

If there is no information about scheduled conferences, the conference list will not be displayed.

Step 2

Select an ongoing conference, press the

or key on the remote control to join the

conference.

5.1.2 Initiating a Conference from the Conference History Screen

You can initiate a conference by editing the sites that join the conference and setting conference
parameters on the conference history screen.

Context

The sites that have been called and the conferences that have been held are all entered in the
conference history.
